Course renovation is winding down and has been a success despite several soaking rains.  There are benefits and detriments to it but what can you do?  Our crew once again showed their value by accomplishing plenty in a short window.  This Tuesday was one of those great work days where we aerated all twenty greens, collected the cores, sanded and drug all greens, double cut all tees and mowed fairways until rain stopped us.  What a great crew!

Perfect start on Tuesday morning.  Francisco begins a long day of walking as he aerates the first of twenty greens.

Plenty of washouts the past two weeks.  This was Saturday morning.

After aerating and cleaning up the greens look like this prior to sanding.

This is the finished product after sanding, brushing, seeding, more brushing, blowing and final rolling.  A fungicide application with lots of fertilizer will be applied on Friday.

Richard seeding greens.

Detail back pack blowing to evenly disperse the sand.

Final rolling in two directions and we are done!

Meanwhile Luis is slicing fairways.  This is just another way to improve rooting.

When he is done the fairways look like this.  After we mow tomorrow it will be difficult to tell we were there.

Meanwhile Josh is keeping a keen eye on no skips while seeding the rough.  One day he will wear a hat!

While the back nine was closed we had a contractor begin some pruning on several trees including everyone's favorite.

Wildflowers are germinating like gangbusters on the third hole.

Kousa dogwoods have never had so many berries as this September.  Birds relish this fruit.

Our bambinos are growing up fast!

  1. Great work! The course is setting up to be Fall Fantastic! Please don't mess too much with he tree on 12. For faders like me, it's not much of a second shot problem and provides a defense against my right to left opponents. Thanks to the whole crew!

  2. Can you name the bird that hangs out on the drainage pipe in the pond next to 16th green? Thanks!
